DCX Q1-2012 release date announced
The latest release of DCX will be rolled out to all platforms on the 21st May 2012. This release adds yet more functionality to the existing web services through the addition of several more calls. These calls represent the next stages in the project to provide portal and tablet developers with the same rich functionality currently available within the DCX web sites.
The new calls include SendReply, allowing portals and tablets to reply directly to a message in the same way you do today in the websites, and GetPackageContentEx, which allows those same portals and tablets to open DCX packages protected by secondary authentication through the use of the DCX challenge questions.
A new call has also been added to allow a calling system to provide their own tag as part of the request. This tag has no meaning within DCX, but it will be included in all responses and status updates from DCX to the caller. In turn this could help calling systems in removing one more id lookup in their processing.
